'SAPPHIRE PRINCESS B2B'- Waitomo

Auckland City Sights - Mount Eden / Waitomo Glow Worm caves / Kiwiana Show

Introduction

Indigenous Trails has a proven track record of providing quality and affordable Cruise Ship shore excursions of distinction in multiple Port locations around Aotearoa, New Zealand. We proudly introduce to our Visitors - 'Manuhiri Tuarangi' a 'brief snap-shot' of genuine 'Manaakitanga - Hospitality' for the time they are in Port, whilst understanding the importance of creating a more intimate and personalised environment.

Indigenous Trails gives passengers arriving into Auckland on the Sapphire Princess - 15th & 31st October 2010 the opportunity to visit Waitomo Caves.

Description:

Welcome ... to Auckland ... New Zealand's largest city.

Your excursion starts with a visit to the highest volcanoe in Auckland, ‘Mt Eden', taking in panoramic views of the city and surrounds before heading south over the Bombay Hills into the ‘Mighty Waikato’ toward Waitomo.

Enjoy the changing contours of landscape and country-side as we travel through rich farmlands arriving in the small township of Waitomo, one of New Zealand's premier destinations.

First up will be a visit to experience a unique part of our pioneering history combined with a farm show. New Zealand's first Kiwi Culture Show with audience participation includes a range of bush animals. This exhibition has it all!  Your host will leave you in fits of laughter as you engage in a 'slice' of New Zealand's rural history. Animals from the bush include a 'kiwi bear' and a 'dancing pig' as well as farm animals and working  farm scenes.

Thereafter, lunch will be enjoyed nearby before arriving for our ‘underground boat-ride’ of the ‘Waitomo Caves’. The ‘Waitomo Glow Worm Caves’ is a magnet for both local and overseas visitors. Thousands of tiny creatures radiate their unmistakable luminescent light in their cinema-like environment as expert guides provide informative commentary on the Caves historical and geological significance.

On completion of this activity, we make our way back toward Auckland and your Ship.
