Description:
When leaving the boat you will be driven through the beautiful ‘Marlborough country’ side to the award winning wineries of the ‘Wairau Plains’. Your host will give you a full commentary of the ‘History’ and ‘Heritage’ of our region, whilst walking through the vineyards and tasting some of the wonderful Marlborough Wines.
Marlborough is one of the fastest growing wine regions in New Zealand. There is evidence that the first grapes were planted in 1870 and the first exportation of wine was in 1963. Nowadays Marlborough wineries have worldwide interest, especially the Sauvignon Blanc.
Your 'A la carte lunch' will be at the winery restaurant “The Village”, which is renowned for its Boutique wines, Olive oils, Prenzels liqueurs, schnapps, and Arts and Crafts.
After lunch we will go to ‘Boutique Chocolate Factory’ to watch handmade chocolates being made and to taste some samples. Before heading back to Picton we will have a scenic drive via ‘Queen Charlotte Drive’ and stop briefly in ‘Havelock’, the “green shell mussel capital of the world”, then on to the Port of Piction to board your boat and conclude this day’s excursion. |
