Indigenous Trails offers a wide range of tours to destinations throughout New Zealand that are not on traditional touring routes, meeting the demands of travellers wanting to experience something different, personal, cultural and of course... the natural beauty and people of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Indigenous Trails is Maori owned and operated and holds strategic alliances with other Maori tourism operators, enabling us to provide packages and cultural travel experiences that are out of reach for most visitors to Aotearoa.

Indigenous Trails does not look to align itself with mainstream entities, but seeks to assist its Indigenous operator networks by connecting and supplying clientele creating mutual benefit to both supplier and provider. We pride ourselves in stating that we are unique in what we do.

As a Maori and Indigenous tour operator we adhere to the principles of Kaitiakitanga or Guardianship - we are here for a short moment of time but the land remains. Responsible travel is about minimizing your impact and maximizing your connection with people and the environment. It's about making a positive contribution and having the most rewarding and inspiring travel experiences of your life.

As a commitment to the ever-growing awareness of our changing environment, Indigenous Trails strives to meet the responsibilities of sustainable tourism by fostering this awareness amongst its operators, clientele and its tours through our participation in Carbon Zero.
